Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Job Captain / Project Manager with experience in single-family and townhome residential architecture. This individual will play a key role in managing design and documentation through all phases of development, from schematic design to construction documents and coordination. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and confident leading projects and coordinating with consultants, clients, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of design and construction drawings for single-family and townhome projects.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and team members to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals.
• Manage and track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Ensure adherence to building codes, zoning regulations, and design standards.
• Participate in design development and technical detailing.
• Oversee permitting processes and manage plan check responses.
• Provide quality control for drawing sets and documentation.
• Support and mentor junior team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 5+ years of experience in residential architecture, preferably with a focus on single-family and townhomes.
• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of residential wood-frame construction.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of local codes, permitting, and construction documentation.
• Must be able to work full time from the Vienna, VA office
