Position Overview
DMV area Custom Residential Design-Build client is seeking a dynamic Project Designer to join their talented and collaborative team. This role requires creativity, technical expertise, and a client-centered approach to deliver high-quality design solutions. The position involves a hybrid work arrangement and requires reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Oversee and manage multiple design projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of project milestones.
- Support secondary projects as needed.
Design and Technical Coordination
- Conduct architectural tasks including existing condition analysis, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
- Manage interior design aspects including finish selections, color schemes, and sketching.
- Oversee cabinet ordering, quality control, and installation.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural teams.
Client Relations and Collaboration
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.
- Actively participate in collaborative team efforts and continuous professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of Residential Interior Design or Residential Architecture experience.
- Proficiency in Chief Architect, Revit LT, Smartsheet, and DesignFiles.
- Experience in zoning, code analysis, material selections, specifications, and permitting processes.
- Knowledge of and strong connections with local vendors and material suppliers.
- Proficient experience with space planning, FF&E specifications, material selections, and codes.
- Experience in construction administration for residential and light commercial projects.
- Experience with cabinetry ordering, installation management, and troubleshooting.
- NCARB, NCIDQ, CKBD certifications are a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective presentation and public speaking abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quick to learn new software.
The targeted salary range for this full-time role with benefits is $90,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience.
