Executive Director
Join Farm-to-Power as their next Executive Director serving as the voice for farmers and ranchers in support of large-scale renewable energy projects.
Position Overview
Farm-To-Power, a 501c3 organization serving as the voice for farmers and ranchers in support of large-scale renewable energy projects, announces a search for a permanent Executive Director to lead the day-to-day operations and work with the Board of Directors and staff. The Executive Director will lead the organization’s efforts to further expand and uplift platforms for farmers and ranchers across the country to work with their peers to share information and collaborate around responsible siting of clean energy projects compatible with current farming and ranching activities in rural communities.
Farm-To-Power (FTP) is transitioning from a part-time acting Executive Director to our first full-time Executive Director.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the creation and implementation of a 2-3 year strategic plan to guide the organization in its next phase of growth and impact
- Define organizational goals and measures of impact and manage organizational leadership and staff to drive results reflective of those goals
- Build upon national, state and local strategic partnerships to amplify effective messages and expand the voice of farmers and ranchers
- Manage an effective field organizing model already operating in six states, including managing a team of full-time and contract staff, supported by a multi-million dollar operating budget
- Work with staff and consultants to drive Farm-To-Power messaging and build a communications narrative that matches farmer and rancher storytelling with key messages
Board Management
- Closely coordinate with the existing Board of Director, including recruitment of additional Board members, to execute on the current grant deliverables, strategic plan and funding commitments
Funder Engagement and Fundraising
- Strengthen relationships with FTP founding funders who have generously supported the organization through proof of concept to current scale, with strong execution against grant deliverables and ongoing collaboration
- Coordinate and oversee development of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to enable organizational expansion and growth
Operational and Administrative:
- Oversee all financial, personnel and fundraising management for the organization, with the support of a contract accountant
- Lead all staff in driving operational deliverables and metrics
- Develop, negotiate and execute all contracts for personnel, vendors and consultants
- Work with FTP’s accountants and legal counsel on all regulatory and compliance filings
- Manage and deliver all reporting to funders with the Director of Communications and Director of Operations
- Report to the FTP Board of Directors on a monthly basis via virtual meetings
- Update and implement a strategic plan as approved by the Board of Directors
Qualifications
- Executive or senior leadership experience in a nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organization
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, team management, and fundraising
- Strong relationship-building skills with funders, partners, and community stakeholders
- Familiarity with sustainable agriculture, clean energy, or rural community issues
- Skilled in operational oversight, including budget, contracts, and staff management
- Excellent communicator with a collaborative and entrepreneurial approach
